HensTek. Let’s build something

Independent software studio / Tacoma, WA

Good ideas.
Built to work.

Websites, apps, and useful software.
Made for the people who use them.

Bring the idea, the problem, or the thing that could work better. I’ll help you find a focused starting point and build it through to launch.

IDEA → SOMETHING REALPREVIEW

A clearer way to build

Your next project.

A shared starting point01 / 03

Make the important things clear.

Turn a broad idea into a useful first version, with a scope you can understand.

  • The people and problem
  • The features that matter first
  • A scope, price, and delivery plan
THE OUTCOMEA plan worth building.
Try a stage. This is an example workflow, not a live client project.

02 How it works

You shouldn’t have to
guess what’s happening.

A practical process, regular previews,
and someone you can actually talk to.

  1. 01 /

    Find the right first version.

We talk through your goals, users, and constraints. For bigger ideas, a discovery phase turns the unknowns into a buildable plan.

    DISCOVER & SCOPE
  2. 02 /

    See it come together.

We agree on scope, milestones, price, and payment terms before work begins. During the build, you get working previews and a clear next update.

    BUILD & REVIEW
  3. 03 /

    Launch with the keys.

We review the finished work, prepare production, and walk through how to use it. Your agreement covers ownership, handoff, and any ongoing support.

    LAUNCH & HANDOFF

Your business. Your accounts.

Built with a clear way forward.

For commissioned work, you normally own the domain and production accounts. I work through delegated access, and you pay providers directly. Hosting, third-party fees, code ownership, and support are explained in your project agreement.

03 The studio

Small by design.
Invested in the details.

I’m Tyler, the engineer behind HensTek. I build across web, mobile, desktop, and TV, and bring that product perspective to the work I do for other people.

You work directly with the person designing and building your project. We can talk through the tradeoffs, keep the scope practical, and make the next decision together.

Another question? Get in touch ↗
What does a project cost?

It depends on the outcome, complexity, and existing systems. We agree on a written quote before work starts. Larger or uncertain projects may begin with a separately scoped, paid discovery phase. Quotes identify applicable taxes and third-party costs.

Can you help if I only have an idea?

Yes. Bring the problem you want to solve and who you want to solve it for. We’ll work out what a useful first version looks like before committing to a full build.

Will I be able to manage my site or app?

We decide what you need to manage during scoping: content, products, users, or other settings. The solution, admin access, documentation, and training are part of the agreed deliverables.

What happens after launch?

Your project agreement defines the handoff, any included correction period, and support responsibilities. Ongoing care or new features are available by separate agreement, with clear pricing and cancellation terms.

How do payments and project changes work?

Your quote sets the payment schedule and milestones. Scope changes need written approval, including any cost or schedule change. Payments are requested by invoice; cancellation and refund requests are handled under your agreement and applicable law. Read the service policies.
